Book #1

Reducing Youth Gang Violence

The chapter of this book speaks on the growing violence in communities in Chicago, and the way in which the original system of intervening and preventing crime by police officers, community involvement, and social agencies is not working to prevent violence anymore. This program, the Little Village Gang Violence Reduction program had a goal to target two of the communities rival gangs, the Two-Six and the Latin Kings with a combination of outreach work, a team that focused on intervention, management of cases, youth service providers, and finally suppression.
